Was The Hotel Manager Part Of AGBell's Grand Plan?
Did AGBell send the manager as a part of their grand plan to demonstrate to their conference registrants that ASL causes communication barriers and causes problems?

Its good that you brought it up.
How can we do damage control? First, we need to approach people (e.g. hotel staff)in a friendly way, help them know that if they need to literally call us, they need to tap on our shoulders, communicate with us by writing or through interpreters.
There needs to be a contact person so if problems arise, the protesters can refer the management to contact the leader for problems.
Because we look so much like a "hearing person", it is easy for people to forget and they may yell or talk behind our backs without us knowing.
Maybe wear t-shirts to indicate that we are deaf and use ASL on the back. That may help the situation a little bit better.
Hi, yes. I believe AGB did not want to do anything with the protests of DBC. I believe they let the hotel manager deal with the protests instead of them deal with them. I wondered the same thing you though. I understood none of AGB committees approached any of the protests and talked with them. That is sad.
That is a big challenge question whether our ASL looks bad or benefit but in Va where AG BELL took host at that hotel near DC I point out most people are well aware but that hotel manager ought to know ADA law applies to that hotel if DBC already notified to that hotel in advance The manager should provide the interpreter when whether Jenny already knew or did not know the protestors were Deaf that is part of her job! Anyway AG BELL's propaganda might play the trick on DBC? I just hope not to discredit DBC and must play smarter on responding to AGBELL's propaganda!

I think Jenny knew the demosntrators were deaf. She just decided not to communicate - it was easier to just grab the flyers and gesture to them to go awayu.
Jenny was sent out by AGBell people - I am pretty sure AGBell told Jenny the demonstrators were deaf and ASL users out to undermine their conference.

Jenny called police thinking she had a legitimate ground to force the demonstrators to leave or get them arrested. The police came, looked at the flyers, and what they were doing and ruled that it was a peaceful demonstration and quite legit. I think that enraged Jenny.

Sorry about the dark video - my house doesn't light up much at night. I viewed and believed the clip to be viewable - the hands and arms could be be seen and the movements were not blurry so I went ahead with it.
Yes, I agree AGB Conv people use hotel staff as their puppets behind the scenes. Typical.

Thanks for the vlog response. The police DID come. I assume the manager called them. Police read the flyer and observed the demonstration and ruled it as a peaceful demonstrastion and legit and allowed them to go on with their business. I believe that was partially a factor to the enraged behavior of the manager - police did not agree with her.
Handing flyers is not soliciation -DBC was not selling anything. They were just distributing information which may be why police elected not to intervene. Soliciation implies selling something. Manager objected to soliciation of information - hey speech is free here in America!
It would be worth a small effort to check whether the manager had any connection to AGBell. Her behavior is suspicious - quite uncharacteristic of a hotel manager.

Cy, right, I forgot to mention in vlog about solicting (I know it won't slip by ya ;) ) bit that some sort of sale is usually involved. Indeed, that lady went over the line and she can't just attack somebody way over on the sidewalk. Let police take care of it, but they see eye to eye with us since they have COMMON SENSE. I hope she will be accounted for that behavior, the same with AGB conv people. Thanks.

Right. Thank god for police's common sense. King Jordan tried to do the same at the beginning of the Gallaudet protests but the police ruled it as peaceful protest but when the protesters crossed line and locked down the whole campus at the gates, it gave King Jordan ground to have them arrested.
If they demonstrators were peaceful and just passed flyers then DBC is creditibliy for such a peace protestors. That is matter of important! Excellent!!!!
