Bob's House: Was or Was Not??
PepsiCo's Enable site on Bob's House had a small but key word that we all probably missed which may explain why most of us did not catch Bob's House commerical during the Super Bowl game.

Whew! I was pissed off too when I did not see the commerical! After those AGBad posts on Deafread, and then no commerical, I thought maybe Pepsi backed down and canceled the commerical??
Me too - I missed both NAD and Pepsi say "pregame." I need to read carefully!
I missed it too, I knew it was going to be pre-game but didn't know it was going to be like one hour before the kick-off. My sister paged me letting me know she's seen it at 5:15pm when I was at the mall. I hoped it would show again but no luck, I gave up at halftime then started to pay attention to the game itself.
I thought it was going to be at the very commercial RIGHT before the kickoff because that was what that pepsi commercial was about.
I didn't know it was going to show during the pre-game. I wish I had read it carefully earlier. We had been waiting to see it but it didn't show and I thought AGBell had made agreement with them not to show. I'll be waiting for anyone to tell us if they had seen it, also.
Also sad is that means it's not on the superbowl ad voting sites.
Sad that Pepsi didn't put that in the real game instead of the pregame.
I was lucky to catch that ad twice during pre-game show! I figured many deaf would overlook that word -"pre-game"..! Maybe some of your friends recorded it ?
I had known it would air during the pre-game show. Now I wish I had thought to mention it in the many blogs talking about it for a week prior to the game.
I saw it 2 hrs and 10 minutes into the pre-game show. Sorry you missed it.

I remember that there is a 90% illiteracy rate in the deaf community. Maybe that's why they missed it.
I realized I meant to say hidden prints! The pre-game part didn't show up on the top until the end of the video!

Yes, damn these hidden or fine prints! I wonder if it was intentional? Draw more viewers by having them think the commerical would be aired during the game??

You're right! Just now I viewed the voting poll for 10 best and 10 worse Super Bowl commericals during 1st, 2nd, 3rd and th quarter...and Bob's House was pregame. Damn. I think the allottment of commerical airing is based on how much the company paid for air time - airing their commericals during the game, especially at half time cost more and pregame is much cheaper. I wonder if PepsiCo was not confident with their commerical whether it would be well received by the general public that they had it allotted for pregame?? To "test the waters"?
Pregame is not good idea because it cheap shot. I rather during the game as make better exposed . I miss it too. oh well. Maybe they are afraid to do that when it happen during Suberbowl to watch that adversting commerical because Hearing people might bang on the TV that thought their TV broken with no sound HA!

Yeah I missed that on Pregame aired, too!!! Wish that Bob House's Deaf Culture joke on the 4th quarter while the Hearing Culture joke was aired on 4th quarter! Deep sighs!!

Yes I saw it at 4:15 (eastern time) and it looked so cool. It was on pre-game show, not during superbowl.

Yeah...they only rerun commericals aired during the game assumingly because they are up for voting for best awards and commericals aired during pregame are not up for awards. Damn. I wish Bob's House was during the game for more viewership and potential for awards! Maybe next year??

I, too, wondered if allotting it for pregame airing was a political decision on PepsiCo's part.

I learned why Pepsi allotted Bob's House for pregame airing - it was 1 minute long and millions was already spent on it - plus 1 minute air time during SB game meant double rate since most commericals during SB game were 30 seconds...so they allotted for pregame airing which was cheaper than during SB game. Now I get why they didn't air it during SB game. Wish they kept the commerical short at 30 seconds...
They could have done like... Driver asking where Bob's house and the passnger say honk and then lights come on and go to the dark house and cut all the dialogue. That would cut the length to 30 seconds. Then it would have get allotted for airing during SB game.

If you saw it 4:15 eastern time, it was 6:15 here in Arizona but none of us even saw it...at 6:15 the game was half time....how could that happen? Pregame started around 2 and kick off was around 4:30...Did it really air during halftime and we all missed it????

Again and again the deaf did not get "prime time" exposure as we had hoped for. Bob is a hearing person. Why would he have a flashing doorlight? The story is OLD and BORING. Pepsi should have reach out to the deaf communities and get ideas for the commercial. As you all know that deaf rely on email so most of them already seen the commercial before it was aired. Ms Scoggins should established a task force group to survey the deaf and let us know how many deafs fell off their chair when they see the commercial. (scoff) Come on! Use better judgement and ideas for the future. Hey Pepsi, thank you for using the deaf in your commercial but give us more respect and better time on tv.
Yes I did catch the AD during pregame. It was on about 3:10 cst. It was awesome!
I didn't know that it ran again - must have missed that one. Watching it once was good enough for me! I don't drink Pepsi but Pepsi was nice to endorse deaf commerical!

...so it made sense that Bob's House aired at your time at 4 - 2 hours before the schedule kick off...here, it was at 2....wow, pretty early. No wonder we AZians missed it - busy doing other stuff at 2!

While I am thrilled Pepsi featured Deaf and ASL, I, too, wish they would go to the deeper pocket and finance the double rate for airing it during SB game...it was 1 minute long while most commericals during SB game were 30 seconds. Pepsi saved money by allotting it for pregame which cost less to air. Bob's House lost its opportunity for SB commerical awards which are reserved only for SB game allotments.
Maybe next year?? And no more deaf joke...something that would impact the hearing community!

That is terrible that you missed the "Bob's House". It was aired during pre-game at around 2:10PM MST. I watched it was so awesome!
