TV Storywriters' Challenge

Tonight's Cold Case TV show left me cold! I issued a challenge to the storywriters!

I want to add what I did not say in my vlog...the deaf actors did a GREAT job. I especially liked the part where Carlos communicated by his SK with the detectives. I was thrilled to see Bob Hillerman, Andy's dad - hadn't seen him in ages. I forgot the name of the traveling theatrical group he was in back in the '80s. Anybody remember??

Very cold! Many Deaf are great in acting but ....... *hand over my eyes* It is embarrassing. Where is the certified interpreter?

I hated the plot but loved the Deaf actors.

To portray Carlos as a murderer because he was jealous of his best friend having a CI that Carlos was turned down as a candidate is not what happened in the real world. I really hope that the viewers understand that it is just a TV show not a reality. I don't feel that this episode shed Deaf people in a positive light that we were portrayed as angry people, that us Deafies without CIs have this hatered and against hearing people.

What is funny about this show is that this murdered Deaf actor's Deaf girlfriend had a CI. It was not even an issue for these Deafies but an issue for this guy to get one. Also, it is funny that it was shown he was able to hear right after he got a CI when in reality it takes about six weeks to have it activated. Even what's funnier is that Carlos couldn't get one because he was born deaf! They really got it all mixed up!

By the way, this show gives me the creeps! (quoting on one of the detectives stating that this place (school for the Deaf gives me the creeps!)

Case cold might teach deaf people to save their life not murder a person with CI.

Could it be Musign?

Anonymous,

YES!!!! Musign!!! I vaguely recall along those lines but not 100% certain it was the right spelling.

Barb,

You said it, girl. The deaf cast was great but the story sucked. A lot of misconceptions, misinformation, and misperspections. That show made us deaf people look bad and makes cochlear look better. Makes cochlear like an innocent victim and hearing people saints for trying to "bridge" the gap like Emma tried to do for Andy. She only made things worse. I hated the end where she "saw" Andy's ghost and said "love." What?? She was the cause of the whole conflict to begin with! Only if she respected Andy for who he was and kept professional stance, Andy would be still alive and made the decision whether to have cochlear on his own without suggestions made by someone else.

The show's writers are twisted with this story. They need to do some research before implementing the filming.

Agree with "hand over eyes"! Yep, using the school principal is higly unethical and unprofessional and violates ADA! Like I said to Barb, the show's writers should've done some research before filming!

Wow, I really like your perspective of leaving the CI out of the story line and focusing on something else!
